Point of Pride: Serving a Florida Family Law Clientele

Gators – and Florida pride – runs deep in my veins. The University of Florida in Gainesville, fondly referred to as “UF,” is a thriving center of academic excellence, inclusion, and diversity. UF was recently named the No. 1 public university in the country by The Wall Street Journal in its “2024 Best Colleges in the U.S.” report.

UF significantly shaped my future as a Florida-based attorney. I graduated summa cum laude from UF with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and a Minor in Criminology.  I received my JD from UF Levin College of Law, with honors.  Both gave me the foundation to serve my clients as a caring advocate, supportive problem-solver, and knowledgeable family law attorney.

A member of the Florida Bar since 2009, I began my legal career as a lawyer at the Guardian Ad Litem Program in Miami-Dade County, where I zealously advocated for the best interests of children in the dependency system. Subsequently I worked as a Senior Assistant Attorney General for the Children’s Legal Services bureau in Broward County, where I prosecuted dependency cases for the State of Florida.

During my tenure at the Office of the Attorney General Children’s Legal Services bureau, I was promoted to the position of Supervising Attorney. As both a prosecutor and Supervising Attorney, I worked to ensure permanency was timely achieved for children in the dependency system while assisting in the adoption process for countless children and families.

It is with immense pride that years later I formed a Florida-based boutique law firm to help those navigating the legal system in family law-related matters. The mission of Sara Horowitz PA is to provide the highest standards of professionalism and legal advocacy to a Florida clientele.

A “Florida Girl” through and through, I am an active member of the South Palm Beach County Collaborative Law practice Group, Choose Collaborative, as well as the Florida Association of Collaborative Professionals.

Last year, I was appointed to The Florida Bar’s Seventeenth Circuit Grievance Committee “C” with a term of service from April 1, 2022, through March 31, 2025.

South Florida is a tight-knit community I love being a part of. Raised in the Sunshine State since the age of 2, I am delighted to raise my own daughters here. It is an honor to serve clients in the same community where I grew up. While our clients primarily hail from Palm Beach and Broward Counties, we serve individuals and families throughout the Sunshine State.

Florida law provides an array of tools and resources to resolve divorce, adoption, and foster care matters in an efficient, productive way.  My goal is to understand the client as an individual and discover their specific needs for the future so we can build a personalized strategy to move them toward the life they want to live. By focusing on a collaborative approach, more expedient, predictable, and less costly solutions can be fully realized.

I place my clients at the center of everything I do. With an office conveniently located in Coral Springs, Florida I assess client’s legal options in-person.  At Sara Horowitz PA, we also have the adaptability and technology to conduct confidential virtual meetings and hearings while resolving legal matters remotely.  I am always committed to meeting clients where they are.

As an experienced Florida family law attorney I have an understanding of the requirements, details, and intricacies that Florida collaborative divorce and adoption proceedings demand.

I practice collaborative divorce, uncontested divorce, paternity, adoption law, and foster care adoptions exclusively, which allows me maximum specificity to design a legal path custom-tailored for clients and their unique needs.

If you are a resident of Florida and have a case that could benefit from the supportive counsel of a family law attorney, call 954-300-1602 or email sara@horowitzlawpa.com to discuss your options. Keep calm and gator on. Go Gators!
